Welcome



Colorado State University welcomed its first students in 1879.  The university was known then as Colorado Agricultural College and is the land grant institution of higher education in Colorado.  The College of Agricultural Sciences is proud to share in the land grant mission and offers a world-class education that prepares students for diverse career opportunities and enables them to make meaningful, lasting contributions to society.

Our faculty and staff lead the nation in cutting-edge research on topics such as food safety, human-disease prevention characteristics of food crops, livestock and the environment, renewable energy, no-till cropping systems, risk management for farmers and ranchers and organic agriculture.

The College offers nine undergraduate majors with 28 different concentration options as well as 39 graduate degree programs within the College and its five academic departments. Graduates from the College of Agricultural Sciences are highly sought by public and private industry leaders as well as governmental entities and agencies. Our students are mentored by world class faculty, participate in international and study abroad opportunities and learn the importance of service and outreach to our communities, state and nation.
