Mac Share on Windows 2003 Server

How to Access Windows 2003 from a Mac in the College

Using files on college Windows 2003 servers from a Mac

Connect to the test share:

  1. Go
  2. Connect to Server
  3. type " smb://wpabor.cas.colostate.edu/macsharetest$ "
  4. Select Connect
  5. Domain is COLOSTATE
  6. Name and password is ename and epassword from your eId

You should see two pdf files for mac users.

If this works, connect to your share:

  1. Go
  2. Connect to Server
  3. type " smb://wpabor.cas.colostate.edu/ename$ " where 'ename" is your eId login name.
  4. Select Connect
  5. Domain is COLOSTATE
  6. Name and password is ename and epassword from your eId.
  7. Access to this share is limited to you and system administrator.

To connect to your departmental PUBLIC share:

  1. Go
  2. Connect to Server
  3. type " smb://wpabor.cas.colostate.edu/pubshare$ " where "pubshare" is anscpub, bspmpub, darepub, deanpub, scspub depending on your department home.
  4. Select Connect
  5. Domain is COLOSTATE
  6. Name and password is ename and epassword from your eId.
  7. Access to this share is available to all staff, faculty in your department.

If your Mac login is the same as your eId, you will be able to access files on the server without retyping your login password (single login).

  1. You must be running OS 10.2 or higher
    SELECT
  2. Applications
  3. Utilities
  4. Directory Access
  5. Unlock it
  6. Check the box that says "Active Directory"
