Professor in Animal Sciences Named

"University Distinguished Professor"

 

 

Dr. John Sofos, a professor in the Department of Animal Sciences, has recently been named a University Distinguished Professor, a title conferred upon the most outstanding faculty members of Colorado State University for the duration of their association with the institution. 


The status is determined by records of performance ranking him among the most outstanding members of his discipline as reflected by his research, publications, exhibitions, artistic performances or other mode of accomplishments appropriate to his discipline.

Distinguished Professors have received national and international competitive awards, prizes, honors, and/or other forms of recognition of outstanding achievement.    They will have earned the title of University Distinguished Professor because of their records of continuing and cumulative accomplishment in their areas of specialization, artistry or expertise.  Teaching and mentoring are also considered in the selection process.
