Greetings from the DeanKnowledge to ‘Grow’ PlacesThe College of Agricultural Sciences is committed to excellence in undergraduate and graduate education, basic and applied research, and outreach to the public. Feeding and clothing the world presents ongoing challenges -- and rewards. Together with our alumni and stakeholders, we are wholly invested in a robust future for agriculture through education, research and extension. As a land grant institution, this College has the unique distinction of being the state’s only agricultural school. Our programs at Colorado State University strive to excel in food safety, animal production, crop production, biodiversity, global agricultural and resource economics, landscape design, and plant genetics as we continue our rise toward national prominence in these and other areas. While innovation drives our progress, it’s tradition that guides our people. Our alumni have consistently shown ongoing financial support through donations to our College programs and scholarships. Faculty and staff interact warmly with students and offer their best to their colleagues. Alumni tell us the College “changed their life.” This is the place where alumni launched their careers, engaged in new learning, or forged life-long relationships. We’re the host of all kinds of wonderful connections and heartwarming stories. I’m especially interested in your thoughts as we work together to improve and advance the status of agriculture in Colorado and beyond. As always, we welcome alumni and friends to campus anytime – whether it be for a special event, or just to visit and meet with a favorite professor. Please send your ideas, alumni stories and comments to our special VIP e-mail, CAS_vip@mail.colostate.edu . We look forward to hearing from you.
Best regards,
Lee Sommers Director, Agricultural Experiment Station View
