Master Teacher Initiative

Information, Briefings and Notes

I am pleased to announce the launch of the Master Teacher Initiative (MTI) within the College of Agricultural Sciences. With the formation of The Institute for Learning and Teaching (TILT), the MTI has become a University-wide initiative to support efforts to enhance teaching and learning within each of the colleges. Although the MTI is supported by TILT, each college will tailor their respective MTI to the specific needs of their college. Ken Barbarick has graciously accepted the position of MTI College Coordinator and will lead the initiative. Given Ken’s record and reputation in the teaching arena, I am confident in his ability to champion the teaching mission within the college.

The College of Agricultural Sciences’ Master Teacher Initiative will consist of a number of components including Master Teacher Tips of the Week, Master Teacher Workshops, and a Master Teacher Web Site (created and managed by TILT).

The College of Agricultural Sciences’ Master Teacher Initiative promises to provide an ongoing platform upon which our teaching mission can flourish. Please consider joining us for this inaugural session!

Nancy A. Irlbeck, Ph.D.
